Innovative Dress Design – Capacity Building Programme.
MEACT B.Ed. College, Ayur successfully conducted a Capacity Building Programme on Innovative Dress Design using Paper, Plant Leaves, and Plastic on February 4, 2026.The programme was conducted in the classroom and began at 12:00 noon.It was inaugurated by Parvathy Miss.The nitiative aimed to promote sustainability, creativity, and teamwork among student-teachers, empowering them with practical, eco-friendly skills in a classroom setting.

Students were divided into 3 groups.
Mine is firsr group Ragam .

Group 1 (Ragam) - Newspaper Waste: Created a detailed bridal gown, accessories and modelled by anisree to show how paper waste can be transformed into elegant, artistic, and meaningful products.

Group 2 (Dhwani) - Natural/Leaf Waste: Designed an eco-friendly dress using leaves, focusing on biodegradable waste and sustainability, modeled by Revathi and Anuraj to highlight natural, green alternatives.

Group 3 (Rhythm) - Plastic Waste: Designed a dress from discarded plastic materials, modeled by Ansaf and Aswathy, which served as a visual,, powerful reminder of the dangers of plastic pollution and the necessity of responsible recycling.
The programme aimed to promote sustainable fashion and creative reuse of eco-friendly and waste materials. Student-teachers actively participated by designing attractive and innovative dresses using readily available resources. The event encouraged creativity, environmental awareness, and skill development among participants. Overall, the programme was an inspiring learning experience that highlighted the importance of sustainability and innovation in education.
